Concrete Sleeper Retaining Wall & Colorbond Fence Installation in Camp Hill, QLD
COMFYARD completed a retaining wall and Colorbond fencing project in Camp Hill, Queensland, combining a concrete sleeper retaining wall with a new Colorbond fence installed above it.
The project was designed to provide practical ground retention, improve the property's boundary and create a coordinated, durable outdoor solution. By integrating the retaining wall and fence, COMFYARD delivered a functional boundary structure that combines strength, privacy and a clean, modern appearance.

Scope of Works
The project included the following works:
Demolition and disposal of the existing fence.
Supply and installation of a concrete sleeper retaining wall approximately 1,000 mm high.
Installation of concrete sleepers supported by galvanised steel channels.
Installation of a drainage system behind the retaining wall, including drainage aggregate, 10 mm bluemetal, agricultural pipe and geotextile fabric.
Backfilling behind the retaining wall.
Reinstatement of disturbed areas and general site clean-up.
Supply and installation of Colorbond fence panels approximately 1,800 mm high.
Construction of the fence above the concrete retaining wall using galvanised steel fence brackets.
Delivery of materials to the project site.
Concrete Sleeper Retaining Wall
The retaining wall was constructed using concrete sleepers supported by galvanised steel channels to create a robust structure for retaining soil and managing changes in ground level.
Drainage was an important part of the installation. Drainage aggregate, bluemetal, agricultural pipe and geotextile fabric were included to help manage water behind the wall and reduce the build-up of hydrostatic pressure.
Backfilling and reinstatement of disturbed areas completed the retaining wall works, preparing the surrounding area for continued use.
Colorbond Fence Installed Above the Wall
To complete the boundary, COMFYARD installed Colorbond steel fencing above the concrete retaining wall.
The fence panels were specified at approximately 1,800 mm high, with a Monument finish and a Superdeck or Gatorline profile to be confirmed. Galvanised steel brackets were allowed for to connect the fence installation to the retaining wall structure.
Combining a retaining wall with fencing creates a practical solution for properties where the boundary needs both ground retention and additional height for privacy and separation.
The Result
This project demonstrates COMFYARD's ability to coordinate retaining wall construction and fencing as one integrated installation.
The combination of concrete sleepers, galvanised steel supports, drainage infrastructure and Colorbond fencing provides a practical boundary solution designed around the site's requirements.
